Placed third in
the NBC, won the Jayhawk West title (39-13), won the Jayhawk playoff against
Nevada (2-0), finished second in the regional (3-2) and was 47-17 overall.
Made first trip abroad, finishing last (5th) in a Holland Tournament, which
featured all-star teams from Korea, Cuba, Arruba and Holland. This was
the worst season for injuries since 1988. The team lost speedster
Randy Young, ankle injury, then lost third baseman JJ Matske who suffered a
chest ailment and Marshall Bennett, who suffered a broken bone in his hadn
during the third game of the NBC. |
