1995 Bronco Information

 

  Placed third in the NBC, won the Jayhawk West title (39-13), won the Jayhawk playoff against Nevada (2-0), finished second in the regional (3-2) and was 47-17 overall.  Made first trip abroad, finishing last (5th) in a Holland Tournament, which featured all-star teams from Korea, Cuba, Arruba and Holland.  This was the worst season for injuries since 1988.  The team lost speedster Randy Young, ankle injury, then lost third baseman JJ Matske who suffered a chest ailment and Marshall Bennett, who suffered a broken bone in his hadn during the third game of the NBC.  

       

  Honors in the NBC World Series:  

 

  Broncos were 10th in hitting (.340)  

 

  Tied for third in homers (10).  

 

  Led in stolen bases with 20.  

 

  Cole Irish had the 10th best average at .462  

 

  Wyley Steelmon was fifth in slugging at .960, sixth in RBIs with 11 and third in homers with five.  

 

  John Sneed tied for fouth in strikeouts with 11.  

 

  Andy Weaver was third in innings pitched with 15 2/3.
